I have been a Denver photographer for over a decade, and one thing I have learned in that time is that your backdrop makes a big difference. I have also learned that most photographers use the same spots, making it difficult for your branding photos to stand out. There are a ton of unexpected places for a photo backdrop that are easy to find, sometimes free, and will add unique backdrops to your branding photos! Here are my favorites:

The Library

The great thing about the library is that its free, quiet and has a ton of photo backdrop ideas. I recommend reserving a room for free. These small spaces are private and can be easily staged. Plus, they have great lighting! So bring some props and your favorite brand photographer!

A Coffee Shop

If your vibe is more cozy and relaxed, then a coffee shop is the perfect spot! I recommend going to a smaller local coffee shop, rather than a chain. Here you can get photos and video of your working for behind the scenes videos. And while you are at it, get some headshots near some natural light!

Local Studios

To get a more specific look with a more private experience, find a local photo studio! These you can typically rent by the hour, making it an affordable option. Some have more specific themes to them, while others feel more like a blank space. So plan well and bring some props to make it feel more like you!

Your Friend’s House

Have you ever walked into your friends house and thought, “this would work so well for branding photos!”? (Maybe, that’s just a brand photographer thing to think? haha) A perfect photo backdrop is a friend’s house that has the “look” you are going for. Bring them their favorite treat and plan to help clean up before/after and I’m sure they will say yes!
