Many business owners get stuck on the details like how to pose, what to wear, which props to bring, and how to make it all feel like you. The great news? You don’t have to figure it out on your own. There’s inspiration all around you, and with a little guidance for brand photo ideas, you will be inspired before you know it! Here’s where to start looking.

Pinterest

If you’re not already using Pinterest for your branding session planning, you’re missing out on a goldmine of visual ideas. Search terms like “branding photoshoot ideas,” “creative entrepreneur branding,” or “personal brand photography” and you’ll find endless examples of poses, props, colors, outfits, and settings. In addition, you can create a private board and start pinning images that match the vibe you’re going for and share that with your brand photographer!

Follow Your Favorite Brand Photographers

The best inspiration often comes straight from the source! Brand photographers who specialize in capturing modern, stylish, story-driven content are a great place to get branding photo ideas and inspiration. Find a few photographers whose work you admire (bonus points if they shoot in your niche!) and scroll through their blogs, Instagram feeds, or client galleries. Not only will you get inspired by their work, but you’ll also start to learn what types of shots are possible for your own session.

Look at Your Competition (In a Good Way)

No, this isn’t about copying. It’s about researching. Take a look at successful competitors in your field. Check out their websites, especially their about pages. What kind of branding photos are they using? Are they polished and professional? Lifestyle-focused? Personality-driven? Ask yourself what’s working well for them visually? As well as what feels aligned (or not) with your brand? This exercise can help you identify what you want, and just as importantly, what you don’t.

In addition to looking through websites, you can scrolling your competitors instagram feed, reels, stories and more! Pay attention to what catches your attention, any props they use, and the mood their images portray.
