Every once in a while (it needs to be more often) it is important to shoot for fun. With no restrictions or guidelines or purpose. Doing these kinds of sessions brings me so much joy as a Colorado branding photographer.
Rising Tide is a group of creatives that come together to form community. I haven’t been able to participate as much as I have wanted, but this fall they put out an event for a headshot swap. It sounded like fun and I needed some new headshots, so I signed up. They were looking for a location and since I had some hours to spare from my membership with the Denver Photo Collective, I volunteered to host the event.
It was a little disappointing how many people cancelled at the last minute and for a little bit I thought I might be the only one that showed up. But alas, these lovely ladies showed up and we had SO. MUCH. FUN.
I am kind of glad that there weren’t more people. We really got to know each other and spend some good time getting photos.
Meet Ashlee. She is the owner of Ashography. She specializes in book cover photos. Isn’t that cool?? She wanted some behind the scene pictures and some new headshots. Nailed it!
Meet Cate. She is a model, body-builder and hair & makeup artist and she knows how to work the camera. Cate needed some pictures of her looking at the camera. She had tons of images of her working (from wedding photographers while she works on brides) but needed some of her just being her.
Cate also opened up her bag of tricks and gave us some fake eyelashes and some cute curls. I tell you what……fake eyelashes give you swagger and make you feel like the BOMB! Thanks for the treat Cate!
Meet Katy. She is a mom and designs stationary for weddings, Christmas cards and all things paper. She wanted some pictures for her social media and website and was looking for more of a lifestyle feel. I love the way these images turned out. Her stationary is so beautiful and made for really pretty detail pictures.
I just needed some fun shots and Ashlee was kind enough to take some of me as well. Aren’t these so much fun???
The Denver Photocollective had this fun tree farm set up while we were there….so when in Rome, right??
Thanks for a fun day ladies. I bet everyone is sad that they cancelled!!! Let’s do this again in the spring! If you want to work with me as a Colorado Branding photographer, click here.
