From the moment I walked into their house, we immediately connected. I guess part of it is that we have several friends in common so we had common ground from the start! Meeting friends of friends is one of the best parts of my job. It is a huge compliment when people recommend me to their friends and I really appreciate it.
The other favorite part of my job is…..BABIES. It is no secret that I am a baby hog and if there is a baby nearby, I will grab that baby and probably promptly smell their head. I love that freshly baked baby smell. My youngest son still uses baby shampoo and I will probably force him to continue to use it until the day he moves out of the house. As soon as he gets out of the shower I rush over to smell his hair. I know…it is weird.
Little Matthew did not disappoint. He smelled delicious and he is just about the cutest thing ever!
JD and Dana are the cutest couple and like I always say……cute people make for cute babies (and for cute pictures).
This picture of them snuggling their new baby boy is a favorite for sure. This was one of their favorite photos too!
I also loved how relaxed and chill they were. You would never know this was their first baby. They were already pros.
Look at this new mama. Motherhood looks good on her.
While we were taking these photos, it started to snow like crazy outside. I had no idea it was even supposed to snow. Good ol’ Colorado.
Sometimes dads need a bit of adjustment time to get used to handling babies. They can kind of be uncomfortable and awkward while holding and changing positions, but not JD. He was a PRO.
Remember when I said that we hit it off right away? Most of that was because when I asked them what they wanted the most for their newborn pictures and they said FLANNEL! You know how I feel about flannel.
Then you add a cute fox hat and it completes the look and makes for one of my all-time favorite pictures!
I am so glad that they had this little fox hat and that it perfectly matched what I brought. This flannel blanket just might be one of my blanket scarves, but whatever works for the picture, right?
Matthew was one of the best babies I have dealt with. He slept SO well and we were able to get so many pictures. At the end of our session he was starting to wake up, but he was content to just look around and I love that we got this cute (and kind of funny) picture.
A LiLo newborn shoot wouldn’t be complete without some baby toes, right!?
Oh baby boy. You are well loved and it was a joy to get to know you and your family and I hope that we meet again someday!
Want to see more babies? I am happy to hook you up. Check out baby Ethan and baby Graham.
