The Power of Fresh Photography in Social Media

In the dynamic world of social media, visual content is king. But, here’s the thing – your audience is smarter than you think. They can spot a recycled photo from a mile away. Using the same 5-10 photos for an extended period might be comfortable and needed if you have a limited amount of photos, but it’s a strategy that can backfire. If your followers perceive stagnation, they might start ignoring your content. It’s time for a change, a refresh, and an upgrade and time to realize the power of fresh photography in social media.

They Might Be Ignoring You

If a follower sees the same image over and over in your social media, they start to ignore it. Their eyes recognize it and therefore they don’t stop their scroll. DON’T do it. Realize the power of fresh photography and level up your social media!

Using the same set of photos repeatedly creates a static and monotonous visual identity for your brand. Your audience may grow accustomed to the familiar images, but that’s not a good thing. It can lead to reduced engagement, fewer interactions, and ultimately, a decline in your brand’s relevance in the eyes of your audience.

Tips to Maximize What You Have

I realize that not everyone has the funds, capacity or need for fresh photos all the time. So, if you are going to recycle content here are a few tips to get you started. First, crop the image. Make it look different.

Second, make the photo black and white. I would recommend checking with your photography and DON’T add crazy filters (photographers hate it when you do that), but a black and white image can be a great way to mix it up.

Lastly, you can add text to the side, top or over the image to mix it up.

Take it to the Next Level

If you really want to grow your marketing and social media, you need fresh and updated content! Regularly updating your photos is not just about keeping up with trends; it’s about staying connected with your audience. So, embrace change, book a new session, and let your brand evolve through fresh, captivating visuals.

As much as we appreciate the concept of recycling, your social media content is an exception. Remember, your audience is waiting for something new and exciting. It’s time to give them exactly that and realize the power of fresh photography in social media and leveling up your brand!
