For most business types, a social media presence is a must. However, we will not settle for just a social media presence. In addition to having a presence, I want you to be strategic and efficient! Today we are going over how to pin a post on Instagram as well as the top three posts you need to pin on your Instagram today!

How to Pin a Post on Instagram

A pinned post on Instagram is a relatively new feature that allows you to “pin” or keep up to three posts at the top of your feed. This is helpful for your audience, especially new followers, to get critical information from your feed without having to search for it.

So, how to pin a post to Instagram? First, make your post. Pretty simple. But what posts to make and pin?! No worries, I share that below! Once you make the post you want to pin, follow these instructions:

  • Go to your Instagram profile and tap the post
  • Click the ellipsis (…)
  • Tap “Pin to your profile.”

Now, let’s get into what post you will want to have pinned.

Introduction Post

Tell us all about you! Don’t shy away from creating a carousel with text to share who you are and why you can be trusted as an expert in your field. Speak to your audience as someone they can relate to, share your credentials, and speak to their needs. Although this post is an introduction of you, it should also touch on the pain points that brought the viewer to you and how you can help them. Use your favorite branding photo to make you feel confident and so people can see your face and connect with you. Trust me….your face makes you MONEY!

Mission

Your mission post should be clear and easy to understand. First, touch on who you work with. Then, share what you do. This can be as simple as “I help _______ achieve (desirable goal) with (what you do)”. This isn’t the place to get into the nitty-gritty of everything you do; instead, keep it simple and focused on your ideal client’s goals.

After that, touch on why you are the person for the job. What makes you stand out against the crowd of competitors? And, of course, end with a result! Because at the end of the day, you are selling the result more than you are the service. In short: who, what, why, result.

Work With Me / Start Here

This is the call to action post. It shares how the viewer can work with you and what that would look like. This is another post that I recommend using a carousel for. Begin with the results you yield, and then jump into your offers that can take them to those results! Keep it simple, don’t overwhelm your audience with every add-on you offer. Just stick with your core materials.
