Because this is an adoption situation, I have to be really sensitive about how I share these photos. But these images are some of my favorite newborn images to date and so I am bursting at the seams to share them with you. Sorry about the ambiguity and the fact that there are no names in this blog, but I am sure you understand and want to help me be sensitive to this family and the rights of everyone involved.
Meet little baby G. Oh my goodness. This sweet baby boy was one of the easiest babies I have ever worked with. We got some eyes opened shots at the beginning, but then he quickly drifted off to dreamland and stayed asleep the rest of the time.
He was perfectly chill and go with the flow and we got so many different set-ups because of that.
I think that his easy going character is due largely to these two. I have never seen a couple more comfortable in their parenthood at such an early stage. They were made to be parents and I am so glad that they finally have the baby they have hoped for and dreamed of for so long.
They only had a short time (think hours and not days) from when they found out they were matched to when they actually had Baby G in their arms so it was a whirlwind of having to run out and get baby gear and a car seat! They were so shocked, but yet they jumped right in and didn’t even miss a stride!
His grandma made this quilt MONTHS before they knew anything about him and I love that she made this blanket in good faith and it matched him and his personality so perfectly. What a blessing!
After we got all of the sleepy baby pictures, it was time for some mom and dad pictures. I tell you what….I have never cried in a newborn session before, but man….I was wiping away the tears of joy while taking these photos. I had never met this family before, but I could feel the love, joy and gratitude these two had for their new baby boy.
Is it dusty in here? Raise your hand if these are making you a bit weepy too. 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
She apologized for getting emotional and the tears streaming down her face, but I assured her that they made the pictures even that much better!
At the very end of the session, we had some extra time and he was still a bit sleepy so we went for a hiking/mountain theme because his mom and dad are avid hikers and outdoorsman. They turned out to be some of my favorites! I do love me some flannel!
Welcome to the family little G! You are loved and it was a blessing to meet you and your new, amazing family!
