Do you remember the tween angst and the awkward years of middle school?  I sure do and I have the short permed hair pictures to prove it.  It really isn’t fair that the girls these days are so cute and stylish!!  Earlier this summer I put out a call to tween girls for a studio mini session.  Today I am going to highlight one of those sweet girls.

Meet Emmi.  She is spunky and sweet all rolled into one.  I have been friends with her mom and dad for over 4 years now and it is safe to say that this girl is just as fun and entertaining as her parents!

I only have boys so the girl thing is lost on me….but apparently getting a tween girl ready for a photo shoot is no small feat.  Thanks for making it happen Jami!

A little Starbucks never hurt, right?!  Even tweens need their caffeine fix.  Especially on a summer morning when you have to get them out of bed for a photo session!

I love doing these pictures.  It is amazing how much kids change between the age of 11 and 13!  For example….I took this photo of Emmi and her brother for some church staff pictures last September.  She is still cute as a button, but if you compare them to these pictures from earlier this summer….doesn’t she look so much older and more grown up???  And that is only about 9 months difference!!

Pretty sure this is one of my favorite pictures from this summer.  Isn’t it so much fun???

That last one was her mom’s favorite picture….but these pictures are her dad’s favorite picture.  This girl warms my heart and I love her to pieces, but she is a fierce competitor too!  So fun to see both sides of her come out in the pictures.
