Are you ready for one of my favorite sessions of the year? There are multiple reasons why this is my favorite.
#1- I have been a part of this family from the beginning. I did their engagement photos, wedding photos, maternity photos, the births of both babies and then baby’s first year. So I have come to know and love them so very dearly. Baby’s first year is my favorite because I get to see the baby’s every 4 months and document their growth and milestones.
#2- They have the cutest kids. How can you resist this sweet little face?? I for sure can’t!
#3- About 6 months ago, I saw a session with a baby in a bucket surrounded by fruit water and I fell in love. I knew it would be the perfect 8 month session for Emberly. So I texted Cheyenne and of course she was up for it! I was worried that I had built it up too much in my head and I wouldn’t be able to make them look like they were in my head (a common problem for creatives). But no need to worry about that. It was perfection.
We started in Bear Creek Lake Park and did some pictures in the tall grasses there. I wanted tall grass to be the background for the pictures with the bucket.
I told you she was adorable!!! I think it is good that I never had girls because I would be in serious debt from buying cute dresses and bows!
Then we stripped her down and got her into the bucket. I had brought water with me and it was room temperature, but it was a little chilly that morning, so she wasn’t super happy about being in tepid water in the chilly air. (side note: does anyone else think that the placement of the strawberry is funny??—sorry…I live with a house full of boys so I am kind of immature).
Thankfully, my parents live(d) just down the road from BCLP and so we wrapped up Emberly and drove to Nana’s house where she had nice warm water waiting for us.
We filled the tub with warm water and Emberly was instantly happy and we got these ADORABLE pictures. Can you even……???? 😍😍😍
She started chewing on the oranges and strawberries and it made for the cutest pictures! Look at those big beautiful brown eyes. They are so soulful.
The green grass and the brightly colored fruit make these pictures feel so warm and sunny. They are like a little ray of sunshine….just like the little girl in them.
I can’t believe that my next session with Emberly will be in just a few shorts months and that she will be ONE!! This year has absolutely flown by and I am so sad that my time with them is almost over. Don’t mind me….I’ll just be curled up over in the corner.
