When I got a DM on Instagram from Diane a few months ago I was flattered and excited. Diane is just starting out in her photography career and she reached out to see if I could do some branding photos for her and also do a little bit of mentoring.
We met on a Friday morning and she was armed with a cute outfit and a notebook ready to take some notes. We got right down to business and did some head-shot and branding photos. Isn’t she adorable?
Diane is nearing the parenting finish line (you never really finish being a parent but she is only a few years away from being an empty-nester) and she decided it was time to claim a new career and start a new passion in this new season of her life. YOU GO GIRL!! Good for you stepping out into something new and forging a new career!
Jean envy. I want them. Aren’t they adorable?
After our photo session, we got down to the nitty gritty of running a photography business. I was an open book and happy to share anything I could to help her get ahead in her new career so she didn’t have to make all of the mistakes that I have made over the last 9 years. We talked through software, programs, cameras and tons of other stuff. She probably left feeling overwhelmed!
Diane, thanks for flattering me by letting me take your pictures and also allowing me guide you a bit in your new path! I am all for community over competition!
Are you a budding photographer or do you have photography related questions? Let me know. I would be happy to help you if I can!
