Sometimes you participate in something and it makes you feel equal parts grateful, happy and OLD! 20 years ago Chris and I attended the wedding of a friend of mine from college who was marrying a family friend of his. Small world right?! So fun to see our two worlds collide and witness the love of 2 beautiful people.

Fast forward almost 20 years later and Alex contacted me to see if I could help him surprise his bride for their 20th anniversary. Of course I wanted to be involved!

You see Alex is the ultimate gift giver and planner and puts most other guys to shame! He planned for them to meet at the church where they were married and to wear their wedding clothes and have a little ceremony with their kids and close family members. Isn’t that so sweet?! He also hired me so I could document the entire thing! It was such an honor to be a part of their day AND their 20th anniversary.  Jackie had no idea what was in store for her when she showed up at the church!

Alex arranged for her dress to come out of storage. The funny thing is that Jackie is skinnier now than she was on her wedding day (and so is Alex). How many couples can say that? NONE!

She was a good sport and lugged all of that material all over the place. Her dress is still beautiful 20 years later, right? They have a picture very similar to this from their wedding and it is Alex’s favorite so he asked me to recreate it.

Time to walk down the aisle again!

We grabbed a few anniversary photos with this cute sign. I told you he is good. He thought of everything.

Then it was time for their gifts.

Alex redesigned her ring and incorporated her promise ring from when they were first promised to each other. He is a great story teller and is a huge romantic. It was beautiful, sentimental and so sweet.

Jackie said it is hard to reach the level of Alex when it comes to gifts, but she nailed it! She got him a necklace with the coordinates where they were married. What a great gift!

After their beautiful gifts to each other, their daughter and her friend gave them the gift of music and sang a beautiful song for them. It made me all teary-eyed.

This picture is probably my favorite of the whole day. What a beautiful life they have built.

Then we headed outside to do a few quick outdoor pictures. I love that even though it has been 20 years, and their clothes no longer fit….their love still fits like a glove.

Congratulations on 20 years of marriage Jackie and Alex. Your love is inspirational!
