This one is for the ladies! Senior girl outfit ideas makes for one of my favorite topics as a Denver Senior Photographer. I love getting to see you express yourself and show off your personality through your wardrobe choices! With that being said, I get asked all the time for outfit advice on what to wear. It is time to spill my secrets on how to look and feel your best during your Denver senior pictures!

Casual
Let’s start your session off in something casual and comfortable. This will offer a laid back look for part of your gallery. In addition, if you are feeling a little nervous to be in front of the camera at first, being in a casual everyday outfit will help you loosen up and feel more like yourself!
When looking for something casual to wear, think about what you would pick out on a typical weekday. Then add a little something to make it special! Maybe that is a hat, statement earrings, a jacket, boots, the list goes on. Cute jeans and a fun graphic tee or a comfy band shirt is perfect for this outfit. Or spice it up a little with a cute top that brings out your eyes.

Dressy
Everyone’s idea of a dressy outfit is different. Choose what you feel like is a little dressy, but also make sure it is your style and something you feel confident in. A classic of the senior girl outfit ideas that I will forever love is a little white dress! There are so many options out there for white dresses, that you are sure to find something that fits your style. Whether it is a boho maxi, or a more structured sundress. A white dress is totally fail proof!
If white isn’t your thing or if you are a more colorful soul, then find a dress in a color that really compliments you! Stay away from black (as it can hide your shape) and super busy patterns as they don’t tend to photograph well.

High School Senior Girl Outfit Ideas
Another great way to express yourself and your high school experience is by wearing something that represents your high school career. This could be a sports jersey, letterman, music or theater t-shirts. You can also bring props like an instrument, sports equipment, favorite book, or anything that shows off your accomplishments and interests.

Pro Tips For Senior Girl Outfit Ideas
Here are my super pro tips that will really make a difference in your outfit choice! The most importantly thing about your clothes is to make sure you can move around easily. This will make you look and feel comfortable in the moment, as well as how well your images turn out. Believe it or not, if you feel restricted or uncomfortable during your session, that will shine through in your final gallery. If you are wearing a super tight or form fitting dress, you might not be able to get sitting, squatting or leaning poses and will limit the amount of poses we can get for that outfit. You might feel self conscious if your dress or shirt is low cut and you can’t lean over or I can’t shoot from above for risk of showing off too much cleavage. Make sure you have the correct undergarments so they aren’t showing and consider putting on a pair of form fitting shorts so you aren’t flashing anyone!

Another helpful hint when it comes to color in your outfits is that neutrals and solid colors are always a good idea! I’m not saying to avoid color, because that would make for pretty boring outfits. But what I am saying is to not dress in anything neon, anything too trendy or with wild patterns. We want these photos to stand the test of time, and your outfit choice definitely plays a role in that!
Riley
Shout out to Riley who is one of my 2024 Rep team girls. These pictures of her near the Flat irons of Boulder are some of my favorite! Colorado has had a REALLY wet summer so we had to try these photos twice, but it was worth it! Her choice of clothes was perfect to highlight what to wear.
