What the deal with branding photography? It is all the buzz right now and you are probably wondering what the hype is all about. And sure, the pics look incredible, but do you really need personal branding photography? Of course, you could probably scrape by without it, but as a Denver commercial photographer and small business owner myself, I wouldn’t recommend doing so! Here’s why.

Your Future Customers Can Spot Stock Photos a Mile Away.

The common alternative to personal branding photography is stuffing your website and social media full of stock photos. And while you think you’re getting away with it, you aren’t. We’ve all seen that picture of the blue laptop on the gray tabletop thousands of times. I know what a stock photo looks like. You know what a stock photo looks like. And more importantly, your potential clients and customers know what a stock photo looks like.

So what is the big deal? Stock photos subtly communicate to your customers that you’re not 100% invested. You haven’t put time (or investment) into your own photography! And since photography is the backbone to online business, you could be harming your own sales or missing out on potential clients.

You are Unique…Show It!

The other downside to stock photos is that they can’t showcase your unique spin on things. More than just having photos of you, your personal branding photography is crafted to show off your personality. The choice of props, backdrops, and even outfits will present your unique aesthetic to future customers. 

Branding photos are not one size fits all. As you can see, I craft each branding session to fit the uniqueness of each business to show EXACTLY what they do. You should be able to look at a website and get a vibe, feeling and a clear picture of who they are and what they do. The pictures should jump off the page and connect with the viewer!

Your personal branding photography creates a relationship with your clientele. After your session, you’ll have photos that:

Here’s a Marketing 101 tip: people buy from companies that they know, like, and trust. They are even willing to pay more for something that is the same or even less quality because they know, like and trust it (hello Starbucks). Because you’re presenting transparency with yourself and your product, your clients will feel much more comfortable making a purchase.

Your Photos and Your Face Make You Money!

Your photos and YOUR face will make you money! Once you build loyalty with your customers, that loyalty will keep them coming back over and over again. And they’ll invite their friends! And those friends will invite friends. Your business will grow in credibility, you’ll get more reviews which will bring in MORE clients…It just keeps growing! 

I’m serious here, personal branding photography could be the start of something amazing for you and your business—at the very least, you’re gonna build some confidence in yourself when you see how good you look in your headshot.
