What are Custom Stock Photos?

When I say “custom stock photos,” I’m referring to stylish photo illustrations of YOUR products or workspace. These photos highlight your product to beautifully show off what you sell! They are usually bright, airy and pleasing to the eye. Since they’re faceless, they are easily taken by your branding photographer while you are changing or getting ready for the next location. Make sure your branding photographer is using the most of their time and getting pictures in the “in between” moments.

Unlike the generic images that you’d find from a photo website (aka “stock” images), these custom photos are images you OWN outright. Be sure to check with your photographer to make sure they are included in your session. The other good news…..the images will be professional looking and perfectly match YOUR branding colors and style.

How Can You Use Custom Stock Photos?

So how can you use them? First, these images are great for backgrounds, particularly hero images and website backgrounds. Likewise, they can make for great social media posts. These images can faded and used for almost anything! The product and colors match your branding mission but not distract from your text. 

But that’s not all! They can be great for courses, presentations, thumbnails, and more!! In addition, they are also a great resource for every aspect of managing your business. 

What Do You Need?

So how can you get them? Communication is key! Start when you set up your branding session. Let your branding photographer know that you are hoping for these custom images! Make sure you bring props and products, and don’t forget to let your photographer know what types of shots you need! When I am crafting a branding session for my clients, I create specific shot lists (based on the client need) and prop lists to ensure that each business owners shows up confident and ready and brings everything needed to create beautiful stock images.

Custom stock photos are a great way to round out your photo gallery. They are so useful! These types of photos should be a staple of every branding session.
