When Life Gets Hard: How to Navigate a Tough Season
Life doesn’t always go as planned. As a business owner (and a human), challenges can come out of nowhere—financial struggles, job loss, unexpected shifts in your business, or personal hardships that make it hard to show up. In this deeply personal episode of Brand Believer, I share what it has been like navigating an 11-month-long season of uncertainty after my husband’s unexpected job loss. While I had hoped to wait until this season was over to talk about it, I felt called to share in the middle of it—because sometimes, hearing from someone who is still in it makes all the difference.
Holding Onto Faith in the Middle of Uncertainty
As a branding expert and business coach, I often talk about marketing, visibility, and strategy. But what happens when life throws something at you that shakes everything? In this season, my faith has been my foundation. I’ve learned the power of shifting my mindset, leaning on God, and focusing on proximity over pace—choosing to stay close to God rather than trying to rush through the hard parts. Whether you’re dealing with a tough business season, personal loss, or simply feeling stuck, this episode offers a raw and honest look at what it takes to keep going when things don’t make sense.
The Power of Mindset and Community
One of the hardest parts of difficult seasons is the temptation to isolate. When things feel overwhelming, it’s easy to pull back, stop showing up, and convince yourself that no one understands. But in reality, community is one of the biggest gifts we have in hard times. In this episode, I talk about the habits, relationships, and support systems that have helped me navigate uncertainty. From journaling and daily gratitude to deepening friendships and showing up for my business in new ways, I share the tangible ways I’ve held onto hope—ways that you can apply in your own life.
Why This Episode Matters for Christian Business Owners
If you’ve ever struggled with the weight of your business, felt like you were walking through a wilderness season, or questioned how to keep going when things aren’t working, this episode is for you. As a Christian business owner, it’s easy to think that faith and business should stay separate—but I believe they are deeply connected. God cares about your business, your calling, and your ability to weather the storms. This conversation isn’t as much about business—it’s about staying grounded, trusting God’s timing, and believing that even in the hardest seasons, He is working.
Difficult seasons come for all of us, but they don’t have to define us. I hope this episode encourages you, reminds you that you’re not alone, and helps you find strength in the middle of uncertainty. If this resonates with you, share it with a friend who might need to hear it, and send me a DM on Instagram—I’d love to hear how you’re walking through tough seasons in your own business and life.
